On a side note, there is another method for blocking devices from your WiFi. However, it is only for rooted Androids. This PIN that restricts people from joining can be switched off at any time and you can also change the passcode if you need to.

Changing the password is a good way to do this, however, most routers have access control or a Wi-Fi management feature that allows you to block users by blocking their MAC address. MAC stands for Media Access Control address and is a unique identifier assigned by the manufacturer and hard-coded on the computer for identification purposes.
